Spanish Bank Account

When buying a property in Spain you will need a Spanish account.
Your Spanish bank account is to start with for the transfer of funds for the purchase from your bank account in your home country to Spain.
When the property is bought you will need the bank account for the direct debits of water, electricity, community fees, council taxes, solicitors fees, etc.

In the case that you have a mortgage your bank account is connected to you mortgage and mortgage payments will be done from that account also.
For the easy use of your Spanish bank account always make sure that you get set up internet banking, this way you can check your account and all payments from home. Most banks will have the internet banking system in Spanish and English, some banks even have more languages to choose from.

Important is to make sure that there are always enough funds in your account, when your account get overdrawn banks normally charge extra cost.
In Spain there are various banks to choose from, large national banks and smaller local banks. The good thing with a choosing a national operating bank is that they have branches all over Spain. Smaller local banks will have to cover that with bank alliances making sure that you can at least withdraw money all over Spain.

Do you need a Spanish bank account, our solicitors office can help you open one for you.
