Covid-19 Spain current situation.

We give you a small update on the situation in Spain on the Corona virus, Covid-19.

Last Wednesday the Spanish Congress of Deputies has voted to extend the estate of alarm which was implemented the first time in March the 14th, so until May the 24th Spain will carry on with this situation but lifting lock-down in four phases according to the current situation of the different regions.

Phase 1 started on Monday the 11th of May in about half of the country, allowing people for social gatherings, up to 10 people, either on the street or at home but following social distancing measures.

Bars, restaurant and coffee bars have the authorisation to open outdoor terrace up to 50% of their capacity. Hotels can be open but have to keep closed all communal areas.

Street markets, worship places, museums… etc. will open now with capacity limitation and carrying out social distancing measures.

In public transport it is compulsory to wear a face mask and it is highly recommended in any other case.

Travel restrictions:

Travelling from one county to another county is not allowed, for example from Alicante to Murcia is not possible. It is allowed to travel within a county in a private vehicle with family members who live in the same house. A limit of one person in each row of seats, apart from the driver, and always wearing a face mask.

Phases in Spain:

Madrid and the Catalonia Regions remain in phase 0

Andalusia moved to phase 1, except  for Malaga and Granada

Valencia Region, Part of Valencia region moved to phase 1

In Alicante, Region Alicante and Elche city remain in phase 0 but La Marina Baixa, Torrevieja, Orihuela, Elda and Denia move to phase 1

Murcia Region moved entirely to phase 1

Timetables for walking and sporting outdoors:

1.      For adults, between 6 a.m.-10 a.m. and from 8 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.

2.      For people over 70 years between 10 a.m.-12 noon and from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

3.     For Children accompanied by 1 adult from the same house, between 12 noon to 7 p.m.
